Friends…! Have you ever looked at what you have and what are you blessed with? Had you ever been grateful to the life and the source of creation for having all that you have at this moment? Then chances are very meek to celebrate the life the way it is. As Zig Ziglar rightly remarked “Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for…!”

We must be thankful that we are blessed with and always show that gratitude in return by helping others those are not fortunate enough. Here is a thoughtful short story which may awake the gratefulness within to help you and others around you to make a significant difference in life.

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: “I am blind, please help.”  There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy.

That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, “Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write? “The man said,” I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.” I wrote: ‘ Today is a beautiful day but I cannot see it.

Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people that they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

So, friends! Be thankful for what you have and help others to feel that they have someone to take care of. Because, “The more grateful you are, the more beauty you see in your life..”
